Last night many viewers tuned in to watch President Barack Obama on the David Letterman show. This has been his 6th appearence since last year back in September when he appeared on the show for an interview. Obama makes plenty of TV appearences capturing audiences of all different genres young and old. After listening backstage to an audience member who designed a “heart shaped potato” as soon as Obama came on stage, Letterman asked him “what is the main reason you come on the show?” and Obama said he really do not know probably because he wanted to see the heart-shaped potato the woman made.
Letterman asked Obama about his healthcare plan and do he believe that racism plays a major role with it. And jokingly Obama stated ”First of all, I think it’s important to realize that I was actually black before the election.” The audience found this very ammusing as the entire station laughed at the witty president.
On a more serious note however, Obama discussed the unemployment rate that is steadily decreasing and will remain a downfall for another year or so. But he also stated that after this drought season of jobs the economy will pick up and be stronger than ever. The war on Afghanistan later came up and Obama stated that he still has not decided if he will send out more troops until he comes up with a good strategy and review on the war. Alot of citizens want him to bring home our troops while others feel that he should send more in to help win the war.
