With everyone now using online sources and television to partake information, the sale of newspapers have decreased and so have magazines. Writers, editors, and publicist do not get enough credit for the effort they put into creating news stories, newspapers and magazines. I personally believe they should not put all of the information that is in a newspaper on their websites. Some stories should only be promoted in the newspapers. I am not totally against online sites though and I do not believe people should have to pay for online newspapers, because someone is paying for it any way. The internet is not free, whoever the provider of the service gets paid. I do agree that they should not put a link to look at the today’s newspaper on their site but just have the site have articles and other outlets instead of letting the paper be viewable. Here is an article that was written by Martin Langeveld he feels that if online newspapers do not start charging then the news paper funds will have a big drop within the next couple of years. Media mogul Rupert Murdoch gave a speech this past summer stating that the free online newspaper era will soon be over due to the 47% downfall it has taken. How will you feel if one day you went on hmmm… let’s say the Detroit Free Press and see that their is a monthly subscription to pay to view the online news paper content. I personally do not think that is good either because stuff happen, what if one day your computer questions or your internet is down then what ? You would just be paying for something that you have no control over and unable to sell. Yes new technology is convenient but a few years from now everything will be paperless! Lets Save The Tree’s But Let’s not break the Citizen pockets!
